Quinceañera (sometimes called Fiesta Quinceañera, or simply quinces) is the celebration of a girl’s fifteenth birthday in parts of Latin America and elsewhere in immigrant communities from Latin America. This birthday is celebrated differently from any other birthday, as it marks the transition from childhood to womanhood. The celebration, however, varies significantly across countries, with celebrations in some countries taking on, for example, more religious overtones than in others.

The celebration of “Los Quince Años” has several origins. Most probable, it originates from the pre-Columbian cultures. Puberty rites of the Mayan and Aztecs introduced women into adult life and prepared them for household responsibilities. When approaching the fifteenth year, young women leave the family to attend the school known as Telpochcalli, where they learned the history and traditions of their culture and prepared themselves for marriage. Where in then, they returned to their community to celebrate their Quinceañera.

Oklahoma will elect its first woman governor.

For the first time in history, Oklahoma will elect a woman as governor. Oklahoma Republicans and Democrats chose women to lead their parties, meaning the conservative state will elect its first female governor in November.

Lt. Gov. Jari Askins, a Democrat, and Congresswoman Mary Fallin, a Republican, will face off in November after winning the primary elections.

Fallin is a self-professed lifelong conservative with 19 years of public service. She was first elected in 1990 as a state legislator, and became the first woman and first Republican lieutenant governor in 1995, a position she held for 12 years. In 2006, Fallin was elected to the U.S. Congress, a position she still holds.

Victor M. Saldivar has managed to position Conventions & More as one of the leading businesses in the rental of event equipment.

Review
Before interviewing Victor M. Saldivar, someone who knew him and his work said “that man is everywhere, I don’t know how he does it but he manages to take care of any event in the city.”

This person was not at all wrong, and not far from reality, the truth is that through his company Conventions & More, Saldivar has managed to position his company in the market as one of the leading businesses of rental equipment necessary for the organization of events.

He mentions that throughout time businesses and organizations have discovered that parties and events are a terrific marketing tool, ideal to maintain and better their image. He assures that more and more events are celebrated that try to maintain a market, an opportunity that presented itself before him to create, and little by little grow his business.
